How to use multiplicities with SysML1.2 standard ports in IBM Rational Rhapsody

Question & Answer

Question

How do you use multiplicities with SysML1.2 standard ports in IBM Rational Rhapsody?

Cause

This is not documented elsewhere.

Answer

Multiplicities works in a similar way for SysML1.2 standard ports as it does with UML standard ports. Rhapsody still uses the OPORT_AT (=OUT_PORT_AT) macro. You have two options:

  • Add a send action and Rhapsody will automatically generate the correct macro OPORT_AT with the index you specified.

    or,

  • Add the OPORT_AT macro manually to the statechart. For Rhapsody in C, this macro is not supported thus you don't see Index field on the Feature window.

The usage of these two options are shown in the following image:

    An example project is attached.
