The Maual Explore plugin/tool does not connect through HTTPS to some applications
IBM Security AppScan Enterprise version 126.96.36.199/9,0,1 (using Manual Explore Plugin or Manual Explore Tool) does not connect through HTTPS to some applications.
When trying to recorder login for that specific application:
- The Manual Explore Plugin shows an empty page on the starting URL.
- The Manual Explore Tool shows the following error when accessing the application:
AppScan Enterprise Error Message
CRWAE1404W: Cannot connect to the target server because of an invalid SSL certificate.
- The Retest button on the staring URL shows a yellow triangle with with the following message:
The starting URL is unreachable, possibly because of communication issues, or because the starting URL is incorrect. Try to run the scan job.
AppScan Enterprise 188.8.131.52 and 9.0.1 handles incorrectly communication using protocols TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1, and shows errors when the application requires communication on those protocols.
Resolving the problem
The issue is reported in APAR PI37426.
Fixed in AppScan Enterprise 9.0.2.
