What are the different hardware configurations between the IQNS 3100, 4100, 5100, and 7100 models?

Notes:
  • The IQNS 7100 supports a 40GB NIM.
  • Each appliance comes with 4 built-in 1 GB copper monitoring interfaces (except the 7100, which has no built-in monitoring ports).
  • Only the 4100, 5100, and 7100 can add to their port configuration.
  • The 4100 has 1 NIM (Network Interface Module) bay, the 5100 has 2 NIM bays and the 7100 has 4 NIM bays (no built-in monitoring ports). Each NIM can include 7 different port configurations.



Note: The built-in monitoring ports are labeled 1.1-1.4, ports in NIM 1 (the NIM located next to the built-in ports) start at 2.x and the ports in NIM 2 are labeled 3.x.

The below screen capture shows what the Protection Interfaces policy looks like on an IQNS 4100. This particular 4100 has the 8 port RJ-45 NIM in Bay 1.
