Affected Products and Versions
IBM InfoSphere BigInsights version 1.1 through 2.1.2
Remediation/Fixes
FIXES:
For versions 2.1 through 2.1.2: Upgrade the JDK to JDK 6 SR15. After downloading the 64-bit JDK from IBM Developer Works, perform the following steps:
- Stop InfoSphere BigInsights: $BIGINSIGHTS_HOME/bin/stop-all.sh
On each node: - Backup the current JDK: mv $BIGINSIGHTS_HOME/jdk $BIGINSIGHTS_HOME/jdk_original
- Install or unpack the new JDK.
- Make sure all executables in the new JDK's bin directory are executable:
chmod a+x <NEW_JDK_PATH>/bin/* - If the path to the new JDK differs from $BIGINSIGHTS_HOME/jdk, create a softlink so that $BIGINSIGHTS_HOME/jdk points to the new JDK. e.g., ln -s <NEW_JDK_PATH> $BIGINISHGTS_HOME/jdk
- Test that the new JDK is properly installed by running $BIGINSIGHTS_HOME/jdk/java -version
- Restart BigInsights: $BIGINSIGHTS_HOME/bin/start-all.sh
