IBM Support

Analyst Add-in does not appear within the Excel toolbar

Troubleshooting

Problem

Although the Planning Administration components are installed on the machine and Planning Analyst works fine, the Analyst Excel Add-in does not appear on the Excel toolbar.

Resolving The Problem

In Excel, go to File dropdown, Options, Manage: Excel Add-ins dropdown, and select the Go button.

If "IBM Cognos Planning 10.1 Analyst" is in the list of available Add-ins, select the checkbox and then Ok.

If "IBM Cognos Planning 10.1 Analyst" is not in the list of available Add-ins, then select the Browse button, and browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Cognos\c10\bin\Analyst.xla.

If the Analyst Add-in at this point still does not appear in the Excel toolbar, then check to see if the Analyst Add-in is disabled in Excel.

To see if it is disable, in Excel, go to File dropdown, Options, Manage: Disabled Items dropdown, and select the Go button, then if the Analyst Add-in is in the list, enable it.
