Troubleshooting
Problem
I've run the license authorization wizard in SPSS, but I would like to know what the license number is that the authorization wizard and code generated. Is there anywhere I can find that?
Resolving The Problem
The lservrc file contains the actual license code or codes that were generated from the authorization code and wizard. You may open this lservrc file in any text editor application.
The long text string up to but not including the "#" character is the license code. Everything after the # is considered a comment.
You may get separate license codes for separate modules, and all those codes will be displayed in the lservrc file.

lservrc Installation directory
The lservrc file is located in the installation directory of SPSS/Statistics (on Windows for example: C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Statistics\26) and AMOS installation directory (example: C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\SPSS\Amos\25) and in the <install directory>/bin folder of SPSS Product (Modeler, Text Analytics For Survey)

How to locate the installation directory of an IBM SPSS desktop product on Windows operating systems?
Note for version 27 of SPSS Statistics on MacOS. lservrc file is no longer under <install directory>/bin folder. Default path is /Applications/IBM\ SPSS\ Statistics\ 27/Resources/Activation/
Example above: lservrc located in bin folder of SPSS installation directory on MacOS. Please note that file has not extension and should never be saved with extension if manually edited. Please note that copying this file from one machine to another will not result in a working version of the product.
