Question & Answer

Question

Cause

To gather more information for troubleshooting the IBM DOORS Web Access server installation, you need to modify your server configuration files.

Answer

The procedure to increase the IBM DOORS Web Access (DWA) logging levels varies by DWA version.

For DWA 9.7.2.6 and later:

To increase the logging levels, navigate to <path to dwa>\server\webapps\dwa\WEB-INF\:
    - Rename existing log4j2-dwa.xml to log4j2-dwa.xml.orig
    - Rename support.log4j2-dwa.xml to log4j2-dwa.xml

For DWA 1.4.0.4 and later:

To increase the logging levels, follow the instructions in the following file:
DWA_INSTALL_DIR/server/festival/config/festival-log4j.xml.support

This file contains instructions for enabling debug logging for the DWA server. It also refers you to the file containing instructions to enable debug logging for the DWA broker.

If you also need to enable Interoperation Server logging, refer to Enabling logging for DWA Interoperation server.

NOTE:
Increasing the logging levels impacts performance.
