Troubleshooting
Problem
In attempt to run the TSM server administrative command line "dsmadmc" in batch mode, and error may occur translating the "-" which precedes each of the parameters specified with the command.
Symptom
When the following command is issued:
DSMADMC –ID=userid –PA=pwd –OUTFILE=c:\%ServerName%_Server.txt –COMMAdelimited Select * from Drives
Any of the following errors may occur:
ANR2004E Missing value for keyword parm-COMMAdelimited
or
ANR1702W Skipping 'ûOUTFILE=C' - unable to resolve to a valid server name
or
Sometimes the command doesn't recognize any parameters specified, and issues the following error:
ANS8019E Id and password must be supplied in Batch mode.
Cause
A cut-n-paste used to copy the command from a system with bad character translations for the "-" character which caused the dsmadmc command on the target machine to misinterpret the "-" and errors out
Resolving The Problem
Type the command syntax manually at the command line, or use cut-n-paste, but delete the "-" and re type it again.
