Using MULTIUSERBASEDIR with network drive destination requires an existing directory

News

Abstract

If you specify the MULTIUSERBASEDIR option on the Lotus Notes install command line, and the destination directory is located on a network drive, you must manually create a data directory for each user, and ensure correct permission access, before performing Notes user setup.

Content

You can use MULTIUSERBASEDIR on the Lotus Notes install command line to specify a non-standard Notes install directory. However, if you specify the MULTIUSERBASEDIR option on the Lotus Notes install command line and the specified destination directory is located on a network drive, you must manually create a data directory for each user before performing Notes user setup. As well, the user must have read and write permission to access that data directory.
