Paste values from text file to filter on into text box prompt

Troubleshooting

Problem

If a multi-select prompt is too inconvenient when using a very large number of prompt values (for example, hundreds of account numbers), you might want to use a text box prompt and copy the prompt values from an external text file and paste them into the report prompt text box.

Symptom

Inconvenient and time consuming to input values into the prompt one by one manually, or select these values from a list in the prompt.

Resolving The Problem

Create a text box prompt with the Filter operator set to "in".

Set the following Text Box Prompt Properties
- Multi-Select = Yes
- Multi-Line = Yes"

When prompted you can now paste in multiple values into the prompt and click Insert and run the report to filter with those values.

Values pasted into the Text Box prompt need to have only 1 value per line.
