Problem

Unable to connect to the Informix database. Impromptu test connection is giving the following error: Error number -9: DMS-E-GENERAL, A general exception has occurred during operation 'attach database'. Unable to load locale categories.

Resolving The Problem

1. Open Setnet32.
2. Click the Environment tab.
3. Set the value for INFORMIXDIR and INFORMIXSERVER (i.e. INFORMIXDIR=e:\Informix
INFORMIXSERVER=intor72).
