Error description

  • The problem is with Rational Developer for System z 9 after
successful connection but then getting a CEE3201S FFSException
    from com.ibm.ftt.rse.mvs.server.miners and an ABEND0C1
The connection stayed alive but he couldn't see any MVS data
sets or start TSO commands.. USS files and JOBs stayed
    accessible.

Problem is reproducable on a z900 CPU and can not be avoided

    IVP procedures completed successful

The customer observes a successful connection with icons turning
green. After a few seconds the two options 'MVS datasets' and
'TSO Command' turns red and the customer is not able to see any
datasets or start a TSO command shell.

The customer does have access to the Unix System Services files
and can work with his in JES.
The customer can NOT access MVS datatsets or execute TSO
    Commands.

The rsecomm.log shows the following entry:
    ERROR: FFSServerImpl:
    com.ibm.ftt.rse.mvs.server.miners.FFSException: 2048 0 0 0 81
CEE3201S The system detected an operation exception (System
    Completion Code=0C1).

A CEEDUMP is produced in the problem is in a module called
    ucnv_open_50 within libicuuc50.1.dll. The libicuuc50
(libicuucXX) package is open source software for International
Components for Unicode delivered as part of RDz.

The failing instruction is a LOAD and TEST (E312) instruction
    that expands to:
    E300 2000 0012 ?? Assembly source LT r0,(*)int(,r2,0)

This instruction causes an operation exception (0C1) if the
    extended-immediate facility is not installed;

    Cause:
The libicuuc50 package is generated with C/C++ compile option
ARCH(7) which is generating code that is not supported by a z900
    CPU.
