Error description

• Rational Developer for System z -RDz - Floating license users
  may see log files created for RCL_API_LOG_Sample_xxx.xml
  
  These log files are created by Rational Common Licensing
  for customers with Floating licenses.  The logs do not indicate
  that any problems exists.
  
  Even when a configuration file, RCL_Log_Config.txt, is setup as
  follows in the RDz installation directory the log file is still
  being created:
  Location =
  Product = RDz
  Version =
  Size =
  LogLevel =
  TraceLevel =
  MaxFiles =
  EnableLogging = 0
  EnableTracing = 0
  The following environment variable is also
  set:
  RCL_LOG_CONFIG_PATH
  This environment should be set at
  installation time and points to the
  directory where configuration file
  resides.  For example:
  RCL_LOG_CONFIG_PATH=C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP

   PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
   Everytime RDz is started a log file is created for Rational
   Common Licensing (RCL) with no information in it.  Even when
   an RCL configuration file was created that turned off logging
   the log file was still being created.

  Problem Resolution:
  RCL provided a code change that is shipped with RDz in the RDz
  v8.0.3.5 fixpack.  RCL will now check the configuration file
  to see if logging is enabled before creating a log file.
  
  The RCL congifuration file, RCL_Log_Config.txt , should contain
  the following:
  Location =
  Product = RDz
  Version =
  Size =
  LogLevel =
  TraceLevel =
  MaxFiles =
  EnableLogging = 0
  EnableTracing = 0
  
  In addition, the environment variable 'RCL_LOG_CONFIG_PATH'
  needs to be set.
  
  The EV must be set before the product is launched.
  
  The value of the EV, "RCL_LOG_CONFIG_PATH" should point to
  the directory of the installation.
