Error description

  • Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v8.5.1:
In MFS Editor the word ALPHA is wrongly not recognized as
a keyword, as a consequence it does not have the proper
    attributes.
The Generate Copybook functionality does not work for MFS files
and will generate a compile error in the ALPHA statement.

Problem summary

  • MFS Editor was not recognizing ALPHA as a keyword, so it was not
being color-coded properly in the source page. Also, when there
is a syntax error in the ALPHA statement, the generate copybook
action should fail and report the error instead of just not
    generating the copybook.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix
