Error description

  • On Windows 7 Operating Systems, inserting a PDF OLE as 'Display
    as icon' after an image separated by a carriage return (Enter
    key) doesn't display the OLE Icon.

    Steps to reproduce:
    =============
    Must be tried on a DOORS Client installed on a Windows 7
    Operating System
    1. In a DOORS Module, edit Object Text and first insert any
    image (say a print screen of the desktop)
    2. Add a carriage return (Enter Key) and then insert a PDF OLE
    as 'Display as Icon'
    3. You would initially observe that the 'Adobe Acrobat Document'
    is displayed beneath the default Adobe Acrobat Reader
    application Icon
    4. Save the Module.
    5. You would now observe that the Adobe Acrobat Reader Icon and
    the text 'Adobe Acrobat Document' both are no longer displayed.

    However, the OLE itself doesn't get removed. It still exists but
    is replaced by a white spaced box. Highlighting it would bring
    up a bordered shape indicating the presence of the OLE. Double
    clicking on the box does indeed activate the OLE.

    If you right click on the box and goto Object Properties, we
    would observe that the OLE is listed as 'Editable information'
    even though it had been inserted as 'display as icon'. Changing
    it again to 'display as icon' and saving doesn't retain the
    settings and the icon still doesn't get listed.

    NOTE:
    ====
    I have been able to observe the behavior in 9.4.0.1, 9.5.0.X and
    9.5.1.X versions.

    The issue is NOT seen if there exists any other kind of OLE
    rather than the image as the first OLE.
    The issue is NOT seen if the PDF OLE is inserted as Editable
    information.
    The issue is NOT seen if the PDF OLE is inserted as the first
    OLE in the attribute.
    The issue is NOT seen in Windows XP SP3 either.
    The issue is NOT seen in DOORS 8.3 on Windows 7 Operating System
    (though this version of DOORS is no longer supported)
