Local fix

Problem summary

  • Subprojects are associated with specific host systems and have
no meaning when the host system connection has been deleted but
they are currently left in a "broken" state with no path to
    recovery.

Problem conclusion

  • Our solution is to delete all subprojects associated with the
connection being deleted since we don't want to get into the
situation of having to support "zombie" subprojects that have no
associated connection. This is consistent with how we deal with
project (logical) resources for which we cannot find a
    corresponding physical resource.

We will also display a warning message for the user (when there
are associated subprojects) that deleting the connection will
delete all associated subprojects (but will not affect the
underlying files on z/OS) and allow the user to cancel the
    delete if they so choose.

The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.5.1.4 Fix Pack which
is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
