In Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v8.5.1, the Deploy
CICS bundle wizard allows to configure a CICS resource
definition
server via Web services while it is not supported

Steps to reproduce:

- on the EST project explorer, right-click on an
XML transformation for CICS project and select menu
Deploy the CICS bundle

- click on button Configure: 2 choices are displayed:
CICS resource definition server via Web services
CICS resource definition server via REST

Only REST is supported and should be available

Problem summary


    

  • Pressing the Configure button on the Deploy the CICS Bundle
wizard allowed for the creation/selection of CICS Resource
Definition Server via Web Services connection types. However,
these connection types do not support CICS Bundles and therefore
should not be used.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The Deploy the CICS Bundle wizard was modified to only allow for
the configuration of a CICS Resource Definition Server via REST
connection type, since the CICS Resource Definition Server via
Web Services connection type does not support Bundles.

The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.5.1.4 Fix Pack which
is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
