APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Pressing the ESC (escape) key in a Version Tree within IBM
  Rational ClearTeam Explorer integrated with IBM Rational
  Software Architect RealTime Enterprise will throw a
  NullPointerException in the error log.  Further operations in
  the same Version Tree window will succeed.  This is simply seen
  as an inconvenience for users.
  
  Workaround:
  None at this time.

  When a ClearTeam Explorer user is doing a diff in the
  ClearCase Version tree (diff vs other) and hits the escape
  key before the second selection is made, a null pointer
  exception is issued.
  

Problem conclusion

• This problem is fixed in IBM Rational ClearCase 8.0.0.08 and
  8.0.1.01.
