Error description

  • Rational Developer for System z (RDz) PL/I Real Time Syntax
    Check does not accept the '<>' sequence (not equal).
    Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v8.5.0.1
    The PL/I Real Time Syntax Check marks wrongly as an error the
    '<>' sequence characters, with:
    'ERROR TOKEN' - unexpected token(s) ignored.

    Recreation Steps:
    Add the following line in a PL/I source file:
     if theAnswer <> 'A' then Display('Hello');
    The local syntax check marks that line with 'ERROR TOKEN'...,
    There is no error found using the Remote Syntax check
    (using z/OS IBM Enterprise PL/I for z/OS V4R3 library).
