APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The reserved word UNAL in a PL/I structure is not accepted by
    the real-time syntax check parser and a warning is issued. When
    UNAL is changed to UNALIGNED, the syntax check does not result
    in any warning.
    

Local fix

  • Use UNALIGNED instead of UNAL in the PL/I structure
    

Problem summary

  • The PL/I Parser was not accepting UNAL as a synonym for
    UNALIGNED within a DEFINE STRUCTURE statement.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The PL/I Parser now accepts UNAL as a synonym for the UNALIGNED
    keyword within a DEFINE STRUCTURE statement.
    
    The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
    IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.5.1.4 Fix Pack which
    is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
