APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Another process accessing the DOORS data files (such as a virus
    scanner) can cause the process of restoring users and groups
    from a .dua file to fail. This leaves the database in a state
    where no users can login to DOORS.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Anti-virus software is locking a folder created during the
    import of a large user list and because it contains thousands of
     files it takes longer to scan than DOORS takes to process the
    users and attempt to delete the folder.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Made the folder delete pause and retry a limited number of times
     if it fails.
    

Temporary fix

  • If possible, plit the user list into smaller parts

  • This happens in versions of DOORS prior to DOORS 9.5.1.2. This i
    s a client side fix.
