• Rational Developer for System z Quick Edit Endevor - Update
  source fails C1G0024E : The element was already present at xxxx
  The end user uses Quick Edit to open, modify and generate COBOL
  sources.
  
  This happens when submitting the update in batch mode
  
  When modifying an existing program and save the new version, the
  generation is started but the compilation return code is 12. The
  error message is C1G0024E : The element was already present at
  xxxx.

  01.An error is being produced when extracting an Endevor element
     into a sequential dataset using Extract to remote project.
  02.The SCL statement created to update the element does not have
     the UPDATE option included.
  

Problem conclusion

• 01.When extracting elements into a sequential dataset of a
     remote project, need to get the dataset name before
     attempting to retrieve the Endevor element into the dataset.
  02.When updating an element in batch mode that was opened using
     Edit, need to ensure that the SCL includes UPDATE if the
     user specified 'Update if present' as an option.
