Error description

  • Users cannot change their password from DWA interface when there
    are multiple Interop Servers running.

    Steps to reproduce:
    ===================
    1.? Have DOORS Web Access configured with a DOORS Database.

    2.? Start DOORS Web Access with multiple (any number more than
    one) Interop Servers.

    3.? Create a new User in DOORS Database using the Thick Client
    with a blank password (i.e. don't set any password for the user)

    4.? Launch DWA homepage. Enter the newly created username in the
    login page, leave password field empty and click on continue.

    5.? The user is prompted to set a password. Enter username, keep
    old password field empty, enter and confirm a new password as
    per the password restrictions of the Database ? click on
    'continue'.

    6.? The following error is recorded in the DWA Browser:
    'An unrecognized error has occurred.ID CRCRW5074E -- If the
    problem persists contact your Rational DOORS database manager.'

    NOTE:
    Customer Environment -- With multiple Interops running:
    1.? Changing password for New User - Fails Always.
    2.? Changing password for existing Users - Fails sometimes.

    Support Environment -- With multiple Interops running:
    1.? Changing password for New User - Fails Always.
    2.? Changing password for existing Users - From the various
    tests done, I have not been able to reproduce this.

    Business Impact:
    ================
    In Customer Environment only few users have access to Thick
    Client and others use DWA. New users are created in DOORS with a
    blank password which forces them to set a password when they
    first access DWA. As this feature isn't working, the DOORS
    Administrator has to manually reset the password via the Thick
    Client.

    This problem happens if there are multiple interop servers
    running.

Problem conclusion

  • The interop server was changed to expect that a user's password
    could be changed in another interop session.
