Error description

  • Rational Developer for System z 8.0.3.4 - RDz - CARMA Endevor
ADD Element request does not include Processor Group Name

After APPLY of RDz PTF UK90246 (8.0.3.4), CARMA Endevor ADD
Element request (API Call) does not include the Processor Group
Name (PGN) that user input on client request. This problem only
occurs when user selects option 'Submit as batch job' on client
ADD ELEMENT dialog screen. The following message can be seen in
the MSG3FILE in the Endevor Execution Report on the ADD ELEMENT
    request:

C1G0265I PROCESSOR GROUP *NOPROC* FOR THIS ELEMENT WAS OBTAINED
    FROM PRIMARY ELEMENT TYPE

If Endevor environment has default PGN, the default PGN will be
    included in message.

    Local Fix:

Don't select 'Submit as batch job' on ADD ELEMENT request. This
problem only occurs when ADD request is run in batch.

    ****************************************************************
01.The RDz Endevor RAM fails to include the processor group name
when an Add Element request is submitted in batch mode and
       Bypass Generate Processor is selected.
02.When an Endevor element starts with a number and it is being
extracted from the CA Endevor repository, an error is
generated when creating a temporary dataset member of the
same name as the element to hold the element that is to be
       browse by the client.
This is because TSO does not allow the creation of member
names that start with a number.

Problem conclusion

  • 01.The RDz Endevor RAM fails to include the processor group name
when an Add Element request is submitted in batch mode and
       Bypass Generate Processor is selected
02.The RDz Endevor RAM is changed to adjust the temporary member
name when the element name starts with a number. This is for
the internal operation and does not affect the browse of the
       element.
