Error description

• When performing distributed builds using IBM Rational ClearCase
  clearmake, the Automated Build Executor (abe) processes may
  crash when idle under the following conditions:
  1) The abe is idle
  2) the parent clearmake process is monitoring one or more other
  abes that are running time-consuming build processes
  3) the idle abe times out (3 hours by default, or as per the
  CCASE_ABE_TIMEOUT environment variable).
  
  When this occurs, the abe process may crash and generate a core
  dump. This error may be seen in the clearmake output:
  
  clearmake: Error: Error decoding record type from stream.
  clearmake: Warning: Abe abe(1, pid=8546, 'builder1') will be
  shut down.
  
  or this error may be seen at the end of the build:
  
  ??? 10:25:52.36024897188659387 (clearmake):
  bldsvc_shutdown_abe_channel: abe already closed.
