PM71356: MQ RA EXCEPTION IS NOT LINKED TO THE TRANSACTION MANAGER EXCEPTION

Error description

When the MQ RA raises an XAException which causes a transaction
to rollback, that exception is not linked to the one reported by
the transaction manager - which means it is impossible for a
customer to ascertain the reason MQ rolled back the exception.

*                      response to sending an xa_end to a      *
*                      resource are lost when the exception    *
*                      is eventually percollated up to the     *
*                      application client.                     *

The original XA exception thrown in response to sending an
xa_end to a resource is dropped and replaced with a generic
transaction rollback exception which is relayed to the client
application.

Problem conclusion

The original XA exception should be chained as the
root cause as part of the exception thrown to the client.

APAR PM71356 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs
7.0.0.27, 8.0.0.6, and 8.5.0.1 of WebSphere Application Server.
