**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: 01.Users of RDz JES subsystem * * 02.Users of RDz JES subsystem * * 03.RDz support * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 01.RDz client and server version may * * hang when opening a large JES output * * 022An empty editor session opens when a * * spool file is unauthorized. * * 03.-JMON does not conform to message * * guidelines * * -enhancement adding new operator * * commands, see hold for details * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** 01.Inefficient use of temporary memory in jesminer stresses garbage collection and may lead to a hang. 02.If the user attempts to access job output for which he is not authorized, an empty editor session is opened, rather than a message indicating the output cannot be accessed. 03.-Incorrect message prefix is used for log messages and log message level is not properly displayed in message numbers. -Message level is not selectable by option and log messages and trace message are conflated.
Problem conclusion
01.Improved memory usage in jesminers.jar. 02.A message indicating the job output cannot be accessed is displayed at the bottom of the workbench. 03.-Message prefix FEJ is used for log messages and message level is properly displayed in log messages. -New startup option and console command -m allows message level to be selected similarly to -t. Allowable values: -mn -me -mw -mi -mv, corresponding to levels NONE, ERROR, WARNING, INFO, and VERBOSE. The existing -t comamnd now has additional options. Allowable values: -tn -te -ti -tv (NONE, ERROR, INFO, VERBOSE). Log messages are sent to SYSOUT. Trace messages are sent to SYSPRINT. If trace level is VERBOSE, then log messages are sent to the trace file as well.
