APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Exporting a Module with a Word  document as an OLE will return
    an error while trying to export the module to Powerpoint.
    
    The error reads- -
    
    CRCRD5311W: OLE method failed.
    OLE problem: Shapes Paste: Invalid request. Clipboard is empty
    or contains data which may not be pasted here. OLE error code:
    -2147188160
    
    Steps to Reproduce:
    
    - Open a Module .
    - Insert a Word Document  ( existing doc / rtf or a new file )
    - Save the module
    - try to  Export the module to Power point  (File ? Export ?
    Office ? Powerpoint)
    - Error can be seen
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Unable to export Word OLEs to PowerPoint
    

Problem conclusion

  • Word is putting different formats on the clipboard and
    PowerPoint is failing to find the OLE object in them.
    

Temporary fix

  • There is no workaround for this issue
