PM50720: refreshing a DXL date attribute which assigns an empty or null value causes a diagnostic log

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If you refresh a DXL which either:
  
   - doesn't assign a value
   - assigns a null value
   - assigns an empty value ('')
  
  ...the result is a diagnostic log
  
  To reproduce create and refresh a Date type DXL attribute
  containing code such as 'int i = 1'
  
  The behaviour here seems erratic, when trying to find a
  workaround I found that I had to restart my client, and perform
  a refresh at least twice to ensure I had the correct result.
  
  The only workaround I did find was to use a fallback value i.e
  rather than setting the attribute to null/empty/nothing use a
  date such as 1st January 1970.
  
  This was introduced at some point between 9.2.0.4 and 9.3.0.4
