To reproduce (DOORS 9.3.0.4 and RQMI 1.0.3)

    1. Create a DOORS module with 6 requirements
    2. Then add three columns with three different enumerated
    attributes (see Screenshot DOORS view.bmp)
    3. Create 3 views:
    a. In View A, filter on requirements 1 ? 3 (based on a
filter for the first enumarted attribute colum) (see
    Screenshot ViewA.bmp)
    b. In View B, filter on requirements 3 - 6 (based on a
filter for the first enumarted attribute colum) (see
    Screenshot ViewB.bmp)
    c. In View C, filter on requirements 3 - 6 (based on a
filter for the first enumarted attribute colum) (see
    Screenshot ViewC.bmp)
Note: All views contain requirement #3 with the same object
    identifier.
    4. Create a Test Plan call ?TestPlanA? in RQM
    5. Export ViewA to TestPlanA (Open ViewA, then click on the
?RQM? button from the manual bar, select ?Export to RQM?,
    choose TestPlanA)
    6. Export ViewB to TestPlanA (Open ViewB, then click on the
?RQM? button from the manual bar, select ?Export to RQM?,
    choose TestPlanA)
    7. Export ViewC to TestPlanA (Open ViewC, then click on the
?RQM? button from the manual bar, select ?Export to RQM?,
    choose TestPlanA)

    8. Add a test case to TestPlanA and associate requirement 3
    (the overlapping one) with it.
    9. Run Traceability Report from either ViewA, ViewB or ViewC
in DOORS. (Click on the ?RQM? button from the manual bar,
    select ?Run Traceability Report?)

Problem conclusion

  • This has been addressed in the 2012 release of RQMI.

Migration of this data into the new version will ensure that
only 1 "Validated By" link exists for each individual
    requirement to test case relationship.

The traceability report also handles the fact that
requirements can map to multiple test cases across multiple
test plans. Results are specific to one test plan.
