PM47824: Scenario where DDBS fails to rename .dtn data file to .dtc

Rational DOORS Fix Pack 6 (9.3.0.6) for 9.3

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Saving data files in the DDBS is a 2 stage process.
  
  1. The current .dtc file is renamed to .dtb
  2. Once this process is complete, the newly updated data file
  .dtn is then renamed .dtc
  
  In certain scenarios another process accessing the DOORS data
  files has meant that the first operation (renaming .dtc to .dtb)
  has not completed before DOORS attempts to rename the .dtn to
  .dtc. This has resulted in a failure to create the new .dtc file
  (file remains .dtn).
