Error description

  • Rational Asset Analyzer (RAA), when installed on a 64-bit
Windows host, will default to installing a 64 bit version. This
    includes a 64-bit license DLL.

The Rational License Key Administrator, as a 32-bit process,
    stores license data in
    HLKM\Software\Wow6432Node\Rational\Licensing\... This, however,
is not where Rational Asset Analyzer will be looking on a host
with a 64-bit java and 64-bit license dll. In this case, RAA
will look in the actual HLKM\Software\Rational\Licensing\ key as
opposed to the 'virtualized' location for 32-bit processes.

The result of this is that RAA will start up using the 60-day
'trial key' and ignore the license keys and configuration
managed by the license key administrator.

    Workaround:
    1) Configure Rational licensing using the License key
    administrator.
    2) open regedit
    3) export the following keys:
        HLKM\Software\Wow6432Node\Rational\Licensing
        HLKM\Software\Wow6432Node\FlexLm License Manager
    4) open the export files in a text editor
    5) Do a global search and replace to remove '\Wow6432Node' from
    the files
    6) save and launch the files. This will import the values to the
place the license code expects it to be.
