Error description

  • height(canvas) does not return correct value when used in Layout
    DXL Column

Currently when height(canvas) perm is used in Layout DXL Column,
if the object contains large amount of text (say in object
text), then the change in the height of the object, is not
reflected in the value of height.

    - Create an module.
    - Create a Layout DXL Column with the following code:
    display(height(getCanvas())) ''
    - Value displayed will be 16.
    - Now, add object text with 3 lines of data so that the height
    of the object changes.
    - There's no change in the value displayed in Layout DXL Column.

is not reflected in the value of height.

Problem conclusion

  • A new overloaded generic PERM "height(Object)" is introduced
that takes variable of type "Object" or "obj" as parameter
and returns the height of each object as integer.

    where,
    1. "Object" is Object data type.
    2. "obj" is pre-declared variable in Layout DXL programs.
