  Surname and forename were not accessible via DXL when
  configured with RDS. Configure DOORS to use RDS. Ensure
  Forename and Surname are populated in Corporate LDAP/RDS
  users and use u.surname or u.forename to try fetching the
  value in DOORS DXL. Empty strings were returned for
  u.surname and u.forename
  

Problem conclusion

• 1. Surname Attribute returned forename when Surname field
  was empty for a name. This is corrected. When surname field
  is empty, an empty string is returned
  2. There was no Attribute supplied by RDS to access
  Forename. API is supplied now to fulfill the issue
  
  These Attribute are incorporated to fit into DXL
  requirements. u.surname will return surname, if any, for a
  user and u.forename returns forename of a user.
  
  These Attributes are relevant only when configured to use
  the Rational Directory Server
