Error description

  • Description:
    
    Using configuration (DOORS, RDS-corporate mode and ADS in SSL
    mode), unable to use 'Password Reconfirmation' feature available
    in DOORS Database properties. The issue occurs while DOORS is
    configured to use RDS in SSL mode.
    
    This issue occurs intermittently while DOORS, RDS and ADS are in
    SSL mode. The problem occurs on all Clients machine.
    
    Steps to reproduce:
    
    - RDS 5.1 installed with Corporate Mode with SSL
    - RDA 5.1.0.2 installed and configured with creating a partition
    using secure ADS port
    - Installed DOORS Client/Server 9.2.0.5 with SSL
    - Configured DOORS to use RDS
    - Configured DOORS Database Properties to enable 'Password
    Reconfirmation' for 5mins
    
    After leaving DOORS session idle for 5mins, DOORS asks to
    re-enter username and password. Even after entering correct
    username and password, DOORS returns with error message
    'Incorrect username or password entered.'
    This happens to all their clients.
    
    Furthermore, the user account is not locked out even trying
    multiple (~10 times) unsuccessful attempts. The user profile in
    ADS is set to have user account locked out after 3 unsuccessful
    attempts but it does not take affect in password reconfirmation.
    User has to select Exit to exit out of DOORS Client session and
    launch DOORS Client again and supply the same username and
    password allows users to log into DOORS successfully.

    Defect was occurring because "password expiry" check" was
    not done in RDS mode
    

Problem conclusion

  • Check for "password expiry" in RDS mode is done and hence
    Reconfirmation Dialog is displayed
