Error description

  • Problem
If you try to save with ctrl-s when you are scrolling with the
mouse wheel, the current object may gety spurious characters
added to the end of it. Characters include a square or a double
    exclamation mark.

    To Reproduce
    - create a lengthy module (say 1000 headings)
    - scroll to the last object
    - select the last object
    - using the mouse wheel scroll up a few times
    - while it's scrolling, hit ctrl-s

There may be an hour glass momentarily and the object will turn
to having a red change bar and you should get an unwanted
character in it. It appears to be a timing issue and as such is
not 100% reproducible but it will happen.

Problem conclusion

  • As soon as you hold down the ctrl key, scrolling using mouse
    wheel will stop.
No unwanted editing will be done to any object. The module
    will be saved.
we disallow scrolling using the mouse wheel when the ctrl
    key is down.
