Error description

When using command AdminApp.update to update a Web services
application with policy set attachments, it may fail with this
error:

ADMA5006E: An error occurred configuring xyz in WebSphere
Application Server repository: java.lang.NullPointerException
ADMA5011I: The cleanup of the temp directory for application xyz
is complete.
ADMA5069E: The installation of application xyz failed.  This
application was in the middle of a full update and therefore is
uninstalled from the configuration session.  Discard your
current configuration session immediately to recover the
application.  Do not save changes to the WebSphere Application
Server configuration repository.  The application is not
uninstalled from this repository. Until the current
configuration session is discarded you do not see this
application in the current session.

The java.lang.NullPointerException error may occur when
updating a Web services application with policy set
attachments.

Problem conclusion

This problem occurs when binding information is not specified
in the policy set attachment file.  Web services policy set
code has been changed to avoid this error.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.15.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
