Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V6.1 and V7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Applications containing components * * with multiple resource references may * * experience the wrong reference being * * found on lookup. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Applications containing components with multiple resource references may experience problems, such as attempting to use the wrong authentication alias. This happens when the scheduler, httpsession, etc. performs a lookup of a resource reference. The lookup is performed using jndi name, not resource name and therefore the first resource found is returned, resulting in unexpected behavior. Please note that this problem only occurs when the resource lookup is performed by the scheduler, httpsession, etc. and will not occur during a normal lookup of a reference within application code.
Problem conclusion
WebSphere Application Server code has been changed such that the resource will be found using the resource name itself and not the jndi name (which could have multiple matches). The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.13 and 6.1.0.35.
