Error description
RATIONAL DEVELOPER FOR SYSTEM Z (RDZ) With any z/os project - local or remote and with ISPF and LPEX editor type - when the cursor is placed at the end of a line and delete is hit, the line below is moved to the line above to combine the data. If the combination of both lines extend past column 80, any keyword that is separated by spaces remains beyond the 80 column and gets 'stuck' behind the right margin. The spaces between the first part of the line remain behind the column 80 and as deletes are entered, the space between the keyword and the variables grows. For example (__=spaces in the source), 2 lines of source in any COBOL file: ------------------------------------- 01__DATE-TEMP____PIC X(8). 01__TIME-TEMP____PIC X(8). If you place the cursor in the first line beyond (8). then add deletes until the second line moves to the end of the first, the PIC X(8). from second line does not move from beyond the 80 column. When you hit delete the lines merge to become 01__DATE-TEMP____PIC X(8).01__TIME-TEMP____PIC X(8). If any data is beyond the 80 column (| is the 80 column marker and the second PIC X(8). is beyond this margin) and deletes are continues to be added to space before the 80 column margin, then the space between TEMP and PIC will grow as PIC X(8). is anchored to a point beyond the 80 column margin. The distance between TIME-TEMP and the second PIC X(8). increases and the syntax spacing is lost.
