Error description
TLOG#51531 If you use roaming profiles and DOORS, changes may be made to profile names as part of normal usage. When DOORS first starts, it writes a LOCALDATA entry to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Telelogic\DOORS\?version?\Config. When the profile name changes, the current LOCALDATA entry is invalidated and DOORS will not be able to start -- it will report an error similar to the one below and exit: Unable to create file in directory 'C:\Documents and Settings\?user?\Application Data\Telelogic\DOORS\Temp\LD_0a01036' that was specified for LOCALDATA (the error for versions previous to DOORS 9.0 was slightly different)
Local fix
Delete the LOCALDATA registry entry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Telelogic\DOORS\<version>\Config. DOORS will create a new one the next time it starts, which will reflect the current profile name.
Problem summary
WHEN THE USER'S PROFILE NAME CHANGES (THIS MAY HAPPEN WHEN USING ROAMING PROFILES), DOORS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO START.
Problem conclusion
This defect is fixed in DOORS 9.2.0.1.
