Error description

  • New Function to support DBCS characters in CSSMTP.

    ADDITIONAL SYMPTOMS FIXED BY PI93278:
Characters in the input mail header that have no
corresponding IBM-1047 characters are not translated
    correctly.
For example, a customer has TRANSLATE set to 424 which
contains Hebrew EBCDIC characters. For the target server,
CHARSET is set the ISO 8859-8 which is the ASCII counterpart
of cp424. The "Subject:" line in the header contains Hebrew
characters. CSSMTP attempts to translate them from cp424 to
    IBM1047 and then from IBM1047 to ISO88598. Since IBM1047
does not have Hebrew characters, this does not work.
The resulting mail ends up with question marks displayed
in the "Subject:" line where the Hebrew characters should
    be.
This problem is fixed in the z/OS Communications Server
Version 2 Release 4 code by defect 67359.
PI93278 routes the 67359 fix down to z/OS Communications
    Server Version 2 Releases 1, 2, and 3.
