APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In Rational Developer for z Systems (RDz) v9.5.1.4, using the
  LPEX editor, an "unresolved reference" is reported by the
  real-time syntax check for a COBOl source with a valid table
  column name in an SQL EXEC INSERT INTO statement. Here is an
  example of the statement:
  
  EXEC SQL
          INSERT INTO TABLE1
              (column1-var)            <<-- unresolved reference
  to column1-var
          VALUES(:H-column1-var)
  END-EXEC.
  
  The same issue can be reproduce using RDz 9.5.1.5.
  

Local fix

• Use COBOL editor to display the source.

• The code for handling SQL INSERT statements was not correct.
  

Problem conclusion

• Incorrect code for handling SQL INSERT statements removed.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for z Systems V9.5.1.7 Fix Pack which
