Error description

Rational Developer for System z Software Analyzer 'Analyze'
cancellation is not taken account.

When the customer start 'Software Analyzer Configurations' and
selects 'Analyze' then 'Cancel' it, the Software Analyzer task
is continuing.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a Software Analyzer Configuration,
Scope: Analyze entire workspace
Rules: include only COBOL Code Review
- Click Analyze then after starting click 'Cancel'
- Operation is continuing

Local fix

  • Exit the Workench for stopping the Software Analyzer task.

Problem summary

  • During certain portions of a code review analysis, the analysis
is unresponsive to cancellation in the Progress view.

Problem conclusion

  • Modified the code review rule providers to be responsive to
cancellation in the Progress view.

The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
IBM Rational Developer for z Systems V9.5.1.7 Fix Pack which
is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
