This new function provides support for application development
of PLI and COBOL under USS on z/OS with the ability to generate
DBRMs in Hierarchical File System (HFS) using the SQL
Coprocessor for PLI and COBOL.

The following examples show compiling sample embedded SQL COBOL
and PLI programs using cob2 and pli compiler and DB2
Coprocessor.

cob2 myprogram.cbl -o myprogram -dbrmlib -qsql
pli -o -qpp=sql -qdbrmlib -qrent myprogram.pli

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 code has been modified to enable both COBOL and PLI
compilers to write the DBRM into an HFS file.
