Error description

  • When an IMS service provider SAR file is replaced in the
    services directory with a SAR file of the same name and the
    updateTrigger and pollingRate attributes of the
    zosconnect_services element are set, the updated SAR should be
    installed when the polling occurs.
    The following message is issued but the installed service is
    not updated:
    msgBAQR7044I: z/OS Connect EE service archive <name> updated
                  successfully

Local fix

  • Delete the existing service archive file before trying to deploy
    the updated SAR.
    

Problem summary

    *                      updated and the service archive (.sar)  *
    *                      file is redeployed, the changes are     *
    *                      not implemented.                        *
    ****************************************************************
    When an updated version of an existing SAR file was loaded
    into the z/OS Connect EE services directory, a change to the
    SAR file was detected. This caused the BAQR7044I service
    archive updated message to be written, but the IMS service in
    the z/OS Connect EE server was not updated with all the new
    definitions. All the changes were not picked up until the
    service archive file was deleted and redeployed, or the z/OS
    Connect EE server was restarted.
    

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

  • An updated IMS service can now be redeployed while the z/OS
    Connect EE server is running without having to delete the
    existing service archive file first.
    
    The fix for this APAR will be shipped in the PTF for APAR
    PI85054.
