PI84417: LICENSE SERVER DATA IN UNEXPECTED ORDER MAY CAUSE POST-ART-UPGRADE DATA MIGRATION TO FAIL.

Rational License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool (ART) and Administration Agent Refresh Pack 2 (8.1.5.2) for Version 8.1.5

APAR status

Error description

• After upgrading the IBM Rational License Key Server (RLKS)
  Administration and Reporting Tool (ART) to version 8.1.5, data
  migration may incorrectly migrate server information if the
  information is stored in the prior ART instances datastore in an
  unexpected order. The possible observed symptoms are:
  - Report data stops on the date of migration.
  - Possible missing servers in the report selection.
  - Attempts to stop or remove reporting on the listed servers
  fail with java exceptions.
  - The last change log read date will not change from either on
  or slightly before the migration date.
  
  The issue is caused by a logic error in migration where certain
  server information is not stored in the ART's DB2 tables if the
  server data is preceded by license checkout data.
  

Local fix

• None. Contact support for assistance in correcting the tables so
  that data can be collected from agents.

Problem conclusion

• Upgrade to ART version 8.1.5.2. The data migration now handles
  out of order license server information and data is made
  available for report generation.
