Error description

  • In Rational Developer for z Systems (RDz) v9.5.1.4, an ENTER
statement in a COBOL source results in the real time syntax
check error "EJECT expected instead of this input". The COBOL
source compiles successfully as the compiler treats ENTER
    statement as a CONTINUE statement.

The same problem exists in IDz 14.0.0.4 as well.

Local fix

  • Modify the source line to use CONTINUE statement instead

Problem summary

  • The RDz COBOL parser does not tolerate ENTER statements.
