  * IBM DS8880 System Storage with z14.                          *
  * Db2 support for zHyperlink will exploit this feature to      *
  * improve I/O latency of Db2 applications.                     *

  Db2 Buffer Manager random read I/Os will use the new zHyperlink
  feature to perform synchronous read operations when hardware and
  software support for zHyperlink feature is available and
  enabled.
  A new zParm - zHYPERLINK is available to enable this support in
  Db2. By default zHYPERLINK disabled. Users can set zHYPERLINK to
  ENABLE or DATABASE, to perform synchronous data base read I/Os.
  

Problem conclusion

• This APAR provides Db2 support for zHyperlink for synchronous
  database read I/Os.
  This feature is supported in Db2 for all page sizes however, for
  objects with 32K page size DFSMS APAR OA53889 is also required.
  If OA53889 is not applied, read I/O for 32 K CIs would not be
  able to use zHyperlink function.
  
  PTF for PI82575 can be applied without any dependency, however
  to use the zHyperlink feature, there are other hardware and
  software requirements:
  
  Hardware and firmware
  - IBM z14 with zHyperLink feature enabled
  - IBM DS8880 System storage
  
  Software:
  z/OS and DFSMS APARs to support zHyperlink
  Additional Keywords:
