APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • SPI for EXEC CICS Inquire Uowlink Next does not preset or set
RESYNCSTATUS. The code in DFHEIUOW that does fill in
RESYNCSTATUS is only driven if the programmer also asked for
SYSID. This is when DFHEIUOW returns a Uowlink that has IRC
    as the owner.

Local fix

  • Ensure SYSID is also asked for as a returned parameter..

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Inquiring on the resyncstatus of a *
    * UOWLINK can return an undefined *
    *                      value.                                  *
    ****************************************************************
An EXEC CICS INQUIRE command against a UOWLINK can specify a
variety of adverbs on the command. If resyncstatus is
requested without also asking for the sysid value, then CICS
will return an undefined result. This is since the logic to
set up the resyncstatus value is dependent upon the code which
    determines the sysid.
Note - this is not a problem when using CECI, as this will
specify all adverbs as part of the SPI.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEIUOW has been changed to allow an inquire command which
requests a resyncstatus for a UOWLINK to be returned the
correct value, whether sysid has also been requested or not.
