PI70670: IN RDZ V9.5.1, PROPERTY GROUP FOR DEBUGGING WITH DB2 RUN-TIME ENVIRONMENT RESULTS IN AN INCORRECT JCL WITH TEST PARAMETER

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In Rational Developer for z Systems (RDz) v9.5.1,
  the generated JCL for debugging with DB2 or IMS run-time
  environment enabled, does not have the correct format for the
  TEST parameter passed to the user option file generated during
  the UOPTSTP step.  Here is an example of the incorrectly
  generated TEST parameter:
  
  CEEXOPT  TEST(ALL,,PROMPT,TCPIP&&9.21.5.64%8005:*)
  
  The same issue exists in the current RDz v9.5.1.1+ service
  packs.
  

Local fix

• Modify the generated JCL, ensuring that there is an
  equal(=) sign after TEST, doubling the ampersand (&) if
  not using the DBM, and ensuring the fourth parameter is
  wrapped in double quotes (") . For the above example, the
  change would be:
  CEEXOPT  TEST=(ALL,,PROMPT,"TCPIP&&9.21.5.64%8005:*")
  

Problem summary

• When generating JCL for debugging or code coverage with DB2 or
  IMS run-time environment enabled,  the UOPTSTP step does not
  have the correct format for the TEST runtime option.
  

Problem conclusion

• The TEST runtime option during the UOPTSTP step will now be
  correctly formatted such that the user options do not cause the
  assembler to fail during this step.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for z Systems V9.5.1.3 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
